Tunneling Update

Harriet, our Tunnel Boring Machine is making great headway. Harriet completed the southbound tunnel in 2016 and concrete has been poured and set for the laying of rail. Last week Harriet broke through the Martin Luther King Jr. Station, her second to last breakthrough. In the next few months, Harriet will continue boring under Crenshaw Bl until reaching the project's third underground station in Leimert Park. You can follow Harriet on Twitter for exclusive images and videos, under @crenshawtbm

Bridge Construction

Bridge construction is moving along smoothly in the southern segment with most bridges nearing the completion phase. There is superstructure work being performed on the Century/Aviation station and it’s anticipated that superstructure work on the 405 bridge will be completed in summer 2017. A closure for framing removal on Century/Aviation is expected sometime in April. More details will be added soon on our construction notices page

Rail Placement & Trackwork

Rail Placement has begun along sections of the alignment. We anticipate that major track work will begin in the upcoming months within the City of Inglewood which means there’ll be intersection closures. The first intersection closure scheduled is Centinela Av/Florence Av and it’s expected sometime in mid-March. More details will be added soon on ourconstruction notices page.
