Directional closures of westbound traffic then eastbound traffic will be implemented on Century Blvd, between Aviation Blvd and Bellanca Ave, for the safe removal of the existing falsework (framing) of the future Aviation/Century station. The closures are scheduled to last two weeks, will be implemented one direction at a time and will be performed at night.
The first directional closure is set to begin on Monday, April 3, 2017.

Get updates on construction along the entire corridor including Leimert Park, Park Mesa, Hyde Park,Inglewood, and Westchester. Receive information about our Project Labor Agreement as well as Metro’s Business Interruption Fund and Business Solution Center.

As part of the Crenshaw/LAX Transit Project, Metro’s contractor, Walsh-Shea Corridor Constructors (WSCC) will be closing Centinela Av between Beach Av and Florence Av for five days. The closure of Centinela Av will be in place Sunday, March 12, 2017 at 9pm through 4pm Friday, March 17, 2017.
This is necessary for the construction of the at-grade crossing at Centinela Av.

Tunneling Update
Harriet, our Tunnel Boring Machine is making great headway. Harriet completed the southbound tunnel in 2016 and concrete has been poured and set for the laying of rail. Last week Harriet broke through the Martin Luther King Jr. Station, her second to last breakthrough. In the next few months, Harriet will continue boring under Crenshaw Bl until reaching the project's third underground station in Leimert Park. Decking activities continue at the intersection of Hyde Park Bl and Crenshaw Bl. This activity will be completed over the course of six weeks, between 7am and 5pm and 9pm to 6am, Monday throughFriday. This work will also include weekend closures of Hyde Park Bl.

As part of the Crenshaw/LAX Transit Project, Metro’s contractor, Walsh-Shea Corridor Constructors (WSCC) will implement a new street configuration in Park Mesa beginning at 9am on Friday, February 3, 2017 through 6am Monday, February 6, 2017. The new street configuration will allow for the safe construction of the light rail guideway and will remain in place until 2019.

Los Angeles Trade Technical College (LATTC) students recently worked with Metro to take to the task of creating a conceptual flyover rendering of the future Crenshaw/LAX Line. The student’s video of the future 8.5-mile alignment and its eight new stations can be seen above.
